Samsung Galaxy M55 5G identified with Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset paired with Android 14 and 8 GB RAM

The first signs of the upcoming Galaxy M55 model have appeared online. Thanks to numerous Geekbench listings, it appears that Samsung is planning to ditch its in-house Exynos chipset for the Galaxy M55 5G, which will instead use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.

It appears that Samsung is developing another mid-range Galaxy smartphone, but not another model in the Galaxy A series. For context, various details about the Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A25 have surfaced online recently, with the former rumored to be coming ahead of the company’s flagship Galaxy S24 series. Now, MySmartPrice have discovered a Geekbench listing for “SM-M556B,” an unreleased model that appears to belong to the Galaxy M series.

Specifically, the SM-M556B is a direct follow-up to the SM-M546B, a model number that Samsung assigned to the Galaxy M54. So, the SM-M556B should be the Galaxy M55, which Samsung pre-loads with Android 14. Although Geekbench doesn’t confirm it as much, we expect Samsung to announce the Galaxy M55 with One UI 6 and not directly Android 14 .

Additionally, Geekbench identifies the SM-M556B as using “ARM Implementer 65 architecture 8variant 2 Part 3399 revision 0,” which is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 ID. In theory, an upgrade from the Exynos 1380 that powers the Galaxy M54, the Snapdragon 7 is generic. . 1 outperformed its Exynos counterpart by about 2% in our benchmarks. Switching from Exynos to Snapdragon could help the Galaxy M55 5G perform more efficiently than its predecessor due to its narrower 4nm manufacturing process.
