Samsung Galaxy M55 5G Visits Geekbench 4
Samsung is gearing up to release another mid-range smartphone in its Galaxy M series. The latest entrant, Galaxy M54 5G, could get a successor soon as Galaxy M55 5G seems to have appeared on the popular benchmarking platform Geekbench. Here’s everything that the listing suggests, including the phone’s processor, memory, and the Android version it runs on.
- Geekbench 4 Reveals Galaxy M55 5G’s Details
Geekbench 4’s database contains four entries under the model number “SM-M556B,” where “M55” suggests the rumored mid-range smartphone, Galaxy M55 5G. All the listings appeared on November 21, 2023. Generally, smartphones appear on Geekbench right before their launch, which suggests that Samsung could be gearing up to release the M55 5G.
The listing reveals that Galaxy M55 5G features an octa-core processor with a base frequency of 1.80 GHz. The model that appeared carried 8GB of total RAM (out of which 6.87GB seems usable). Last but not least, the model runs on Android 14, with the company’s custom user interface on top.
- Galaxy M55 5G Leaked Benchmark Scores
Citing four different benchmark results, the Galaxy M55 5G scores 3,575 to 3,647 points in the single-core test and 10,444 to 11,437 points in the multi-core performance test. Based on the processor configuration and the Geekbench result, the Galaxy M55 5G could come with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. It is important to mention that these are results from Geekbench 4. Hence, they should not be compared with the results from the newer versions.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC has four efficiency cores clocked at 1.8 GHz, three performance cores at 2.36 GHz, and one prime core at 2.4 GHz. For those catching up, the processor is slightly more powerful than the Snapdragon 778G featured in several 2022 mid-range phones, including the Nothing Phone (1).
- Galaxy M55 5G Will Take After M54 5G
The Galaxy M54 5G will take after Samsung’s Galaxy M54 5G, which came out in March 2023. The smartphone has a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, runs on Exynos 1380 SoC, and ships with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The phone also has a triple camera setup headlined by a 108MP sensor. There’s a good chance that the M55 5G could borrow some of its specifications from its predecessor, with slight improvements.
